Clinics & Services

In addition to GP consultations the practice offers a wide range of clinics and healthcare services:

• Asthma Clinic: Run by a specialist Pharmacist Janet Barnes. Appointments made via reception.
• Diabetic Care: Monthly diabetic clinics are held, please contact reception and ask for an appointment with our Nurse Vanessa
• Minor Surgery & Steroid Injections: Please contact reception and request a telephone call with any of the Doctors to discuss. The Doctor will then arrange an appointment if necessary.
• Treatment Room opening times 08:30 – 17:00 and by Appointment only.
• Special arrangements will be made for those who are receiving Chemotherapy treatment.
• Blood clinic opening times (Community Suite) 09-00 – 12:45  Mon-Fri Also Thurs and Fri  14:00 – 16:00.  Please note the blood clinic  is for those over 16 years of age.  Under this age please attend Treatment Room. By appointment only.

• Smoking Cessation: The practice offers a smoking cessation service.  For advice, education and support please make an appointment with your GP.  Your local pharmacist will also provide smoking cessation advice free of charge.

• Ante- Natal Care: Will be held during normal surgery hours.  Please make an appointment at reception.  For all women regular supervision is important from as soon after pregnancy is suspected.  Patients intending to become pregnant should commence Folic Acid as soon as possible.  Our midwife is also available for advice.
• Speech Therapy, Social Worker & Special Examinations: GP referral required.
• Physiotherapy : We now have a Physio (Mr Brendan O'Connell) working in house on a Monday and Wednesday. Please contact reception if you wish to make an appointment.
• Chiropody: you can self refer to chiropady, please ask at reception
• Mental Health Worker: Appointments can be made directly with Rona via reception.

Travel Vaccinations

If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to consult a travel clinic for advice on which immunisations you require. They will provide you with the relevant information on how to obtain the vaccinations.

It is important to make your appointment at a travel clinic as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel.

Yellow Fever vaccination - The designated Yellow Fever Hub for N.I. is Lisburn Health Centre.  Please contact 028 92501281 to arrange an appoitment.

Non-NHS Services

Some services provided are not covered under our contract with the NHS and therefore attract charges. Examples include the following:

• Medicals for pre-employment, sports and driving requirements (HGV, PSV etc.)
• Insurance claim forms
• Prescriptions for taking medication abroad
• Private sick notes
• Vaccination certificates

The fees charged are based on the British Medical Association (BMA) suggested scales and our reception staff will be happy to advise you about them along with appointment availability.
